FUGA - Exposição Individual de Laura Lima na A Gentil Carioca

A Gentil Carioca será transformada em um viveiro de pássaros vivos. Laura Lima trabalha com coisas vivas desde a metade dos anos noventa e já colocou pavões e faisões vivos no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil em 2005. Desta vez, com o título "FUGA", o espectador encontra, desde a entrada da galeria, desenhos de pássaros emoldurados e pendurados a vários metros de altura. Na sala de exibição, o hall convida o público para o ambiente dos pássaros vivos: dentro da galeria, a artista oferece às aves e espectadores as esculturas "El Ninho", "Restaurante Belvedere"; "Desenhos-Poleiros"; "Janelas Didáticas", pinturas com horizontes tortos e penduradas a uma altura incomum. O viveiro se projeta sobre a rua, criando uma bolha construída em madeira e tela. Ali, as aves podem ver o céu e olhar os transeuntes na rua e vice versa. Talvez descubram que há uma passagem mimética que conduz a fuga, mas só o tempo da exposição dirá. Laura Lima é mineira radicada no Rio de Janeiro. Já participou de exposições nacionais e internacionais, entre elas, duas Bienais de São Paulo. Laura Lima works with living things since the middle of the 1990's and has put living peacocks and pheasants inside The Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil center in 2005. This time, with the title 'FUGA' (ESCAPE) the spectator will find, starting in the gallery's entrance, framed and hanged bird drawings, several meters from the ground. In the exhibition room, the entrance hall invites the public to the living birds environment: inside the gallery the artist offers birds and spectators the "El Ninho", "Restaurante Belvedere"; "Desenhos-Poleiros" and "Janelas Didáticas" sculptures, paintings with crooked horizons and hanged at an unusual height. The aviary projects itself over the street, creating a bubble built with wood and canvas. Over there, the birds can see the sky and watch the walkers-by, and vice-versa. Maybe someone will find that there is a mimetical passageway that induces the escape, but only the exhibition time will be able to answer that. Laura Lima is originally from the state of Minas Gerais, Brasil, and has settled in Rio de Janeiro city, Brasil. She took part in national and international exhibitions, such as two of Sao Paulo Art Biennials. Her work is part of important Brazilian and international collections.
